Welcome to State Department for Children Services

The State Department for Children Services is domiciled under the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services. It was created on 16th April, 2025 following the reorganization of the Government structure with CPA Carren Ageng’o appointed as the Principal Secretary.  The establishment of the Department reflects the Government's commitment to prioritizing child protection and welfare in Kenya. The Department draws its mandate from the Executive Order No. 1 of 2025, the Constitution of Kenya, the Children Act 2022 and related laws. Its overall mandate is to safeguard the rights and promote the welfare of all children in Kenya.

To effectively fulfill its mandate, the State Department is organized into eight (8) division.
