Public Notice For FY 2026 - 2027 and Medium Term Budget
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2026/2027 AND THE MEDIUM-TERM BUDGET
The Government of the Republic of Kenya has initiated the process of development of the FY 2026/27 and the Medium-Term Budget. The process is anchored in the Constitution of Kenya and the Public Finance Management Act,2012. Article 201 (a) of the Constitution of Kenya stipulates the need for openness, accountability and public participation in financial matters.
In this respect, the State Department for Children Services in collaboration with key stakeholders, has developed the draft budget requirements for the Children Services sub-sector for FY 2026/2027 and the Medium-Term Budget. The key priorities identified falls under three (4) programmes namely: Child Protection and Safeguarding; Child and family Welfare Support Services; Child Rights, governance and participation and General Administration Planning and Support Services.
The key expected outputs and proposed budget allocations are contained in the Sub-sector Report for the Children Services Sub-Sector for Financial Years 2026/2027-2028/2029 which is available at the website of the State Department for Children Services (www.childrenservices.go.ke) under the resources section. The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Children Services is calling for public views on the budget proposals from members of the general public and any concerned stakeholder.
